Concrete block industry

Concrete blocks are made using cement and additives that enhance the constructive properties. The machines needed in the manufacture process are a hydraulic press and a vibrating table, it is not needed qualified work force, and therefore the local impact in workers is relevant in a short period of time. The concrete blocks have several advantages:

• It is easy and fast the manufacturing process
• The constructive methods with concrete blocks is faster
• Good strength
• Low cost

Constructing with concrete blocks has important advantages compared to any other type of traditional construction, these advantages become evident during the execution of the building work and at the end of it.

The blocks provide and efficiently way of building, it is fast, accurate, it has standardized measures, strength, durability, almost none waste of material, and a modular way of building. These circumstances, allows knowing with a low level of miscalculation, the exact amount of blocks needed in the building work.

Not only familiar homes can be built, but also:

a) Educative buildings
b) Industrial and warehouse buildings
c) Residential buildings
d) Retaining walls
e) Swimming pools
f) Shopping centers
g) Flameproof walls

The resources needed to run this type of industry are easy to acquire in any place, including the raw material (cement and sand). The machines do not require frequent maintenance and it is not of high complexity. Working at a low scale the industry can reach 1500 blocks per day (8 inches x 8 inches x 16 inches each block) providing 10 new jobs. The amount of blocks manufactured can be easily changed according to the demand.

Developing concrete block industries not only generates jobs quickly, but also promotes the construction industry, facing by this means, two problems rapidly and at a low cost: the workers on strike, and the housing deficit, without loosing quality both at work and on constructions.

After having a factory working sustainable, the products can be diversified providing other necessarily materials for building and development of the region, such as doing concrete blocks for paving roads.

The required investment for 1500 blocks per day is U$ S 22.000, includes the press, and molds for blocks of: 8 inches x 8 inches x 16 inches and 5 inches x 8 inches x 16 inches.
